Small Business of the Year Award Winners Announced

Boise Metro Chamber honors Zeppole Baking Co., Syringa Networks and Clearview Cleaning Services with Small Business of the Year Award for 2010
BOISE, ID – (June 8, 2010) – Zeppole Baking Co., Syringa Networks and Clearview Cleaning Services will be honored as this year’s Small Business of the Year Award winners. The award presentation will take place at the Boise Metro Chamber’s Small Business Celebration Day Luncheon event from noon – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Boise Centre.
A total of 21 businesses were nominated for the chamber’s annual award, which honors three small businesses in the local community. The winning companies were selected by a panel of experienced small business experts. Companies were judged on staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales and/or unit volume, innovativeness of product or service offered, response to adversity and contributions to community-oriented projects.
“Small Business drives our economy, and with all the challenges of the past 20 months, it’s important to celebrate the success small business is having in driving the economic turnaround in the region,” said Jason Schultz, Dir. Programs & Small Business for the Boise Metro Chamber.
Employing 27 people, Zeppole Baking Company has two locations including the store on 8th Street and a café on Parkcenter Blvd. In addition to this award, Zeppole was named Boise’s Best Local Lunch & Best Local Family Restaurant in the Boise Weekly’s Best of Boise competition.
In 2009 Syringa Networks grew at its fastest rate since the company started, and doubled its work force to 47 employees.
Ten years ago, Clearview Cleaning Service had one employee and one account. In 2009 they employed 130 people and service more than 2.5 million square feet in more than 150 buildings.
